Ogden DNA Testing Attorneys
Just as they do during the course of a divorce, issues involving child support, custody and visitation arise between unmarried parents. However, unmarried parents operate without the same assumption of who the father of the child is, creating a significant amount of legal uncertainty.
At the law firm of Eveland & Associates, PLLC, we work closely with unmarried parents to establish paternity and resolve child-related family law issues. We are licensed to handle cases in Utah, Nevada and California, and are committed to providing all of our clients with the personal attention they deserve.

Establishing Paternity
In the state of Utah, you are presumed to be the father of a child if you were living with the mother and your name is on the child's birth certificate. If no father is listed on the birth certificate, DNA testing will be required in order to establish paternity. Likewise, DNA testing can also be used to resolve paternity disputes.
After paternity is established, issues such as child custody, visitation and child support will be resolved in the same way they are handled in a divorce. Our firm is available to represent unmarried mothers as well as unmarried fathers in these matters, seeking results that are in the best interest of the child.
